It's not going to work

So I think this is probably going to be the last time I ever post on this blog. I really wanted it to work, I just don't have the desire to run it anymore. It was really fun, and I loved making this blog and writing the posts I did make, and interacting with and reading everyone else's posts, but it just isn't for me.

That being said, I do technically have some other blogs- tumblr blogs. I use them all pretty frequently (i.e. mostly daily) and some of the things I post on there are somewhat similar to what I would post on here. Some. I would say what I post on those blogs is more true to me, so that's the way I'm going to go.

If you would like to follow me (you don't have to at all, and I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't), I have a couple:
credxncebarebone is my main blog, which is mainly Harry Potter with some other fandoms thrown in to (which you can find on my navi page)
arianadumbldor is my personal blog, which is as "aesthetic" as I would like to be
isdoraquagmire is my asoue blog- a fandom I am currently very much in
lybrarie is my bookblr. It is only just started but I will be reviewing books on there that I enjoyed reading (both spoiler-free and spoiler-full)

I'm sorry to say I'll be leaving here. But if you wish to keep in contact, feel free to message me on one of those blogs.

Goodbye, i-cant-think-help

Time for a Change

So I've been gone for a while. I'm sorry, but I think blogging just isn't for me. I was all set for committing to it, and I was super excited to do so, but I don't think it's what I want to do.

My mental health has been through a lot, recently, and it forced me to take a break from a lot of things that I enjoyed. I'm not sure if "forced" is the right way to describe it, but I'm not sure how else to. But I'm a lot better now, and I've been able to get back into those things I stopped. I was hoping blogging would be one of them- but it seems that came back to me in the form of tumblr rather than this.

What  I did really enjoy, however, was making my "Showtime Scrapbook"- I liked the idea of writing out what I was doing, week by week. So that's what I want to do with this blog, from now on. If anything happens that I want to document, permanently and publicly (though I may in the future taken them down if I do not feel the same about it anymore), then I will put it on here. Kind of like a public diary I guess.

Maybe if I have a few ideas here and there, I will come back to blogging the way I used to. Maybe I'll write a post about something that tugs on my heartstrings, I don't know. But for now, just expect this, this diary-like blog.

I don't really think there's anything much to say, so I think I'll leave it there.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Review

*Image not mine*

So I was lucky enough to go and see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (FBAWTFT) on opening night (Friday 18th). I also know I lot of people are dubious on whether to go and see this film or not, espeically since how poor Cursed Child seemed to be (I personally liked it at first, but I can see why people do not. And I am sure the play itself will be a lot better than the script on its own is) so I thought I would provide my input. I am going to have a spoiler-free section, as well as a spoiler section- because I need to talk about it and nobody seems to have seen it yet (granted it has only been out 2 full days at this point).

Spoiler-free section

THIS FILM WAS AMAZING AND YOU NEED TO GO AND WATCH IT. There you go, that's what you wanted to hear, wasn't it? In my opinion, the reason why Cursed Child (CC) flopped was because it wasn't written by JKR, but this one was- and you can 100% tell. CC didn't really expand much on the wizarding world (WW) we all love, it just added to the end of the Harry Potter story. On the complete opposite hand, FBAWTFT expanded on a completely separate aspect of the WW- 1920s America. This means that there are no expectations made by the Potterheads, and I think this is an amazing move made by JKR.

Anyway, in terms of the actual film. It was amazing. The acting was amazing, I think Eddie Redmayne is the perfect Newt Scamander (not that I personally had any opinions on who I thought should be Newt beforehand, mind you). I think Alison Sudol as Queenie was amazing- I didn't know too much about any of the characters, because I truly wanted to go into the films knowing only as much as the trailers told me (though that didn't 100% happen) and I don't know much about Alison Sudol, either, but from watching the film I can tell you she is amazing and I love her acting- Queenie was great.

And can I talk about Ezra Miller for a minute? I'm not going to lie, all I really knew about him beforehand was that he played Patrick in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. And I don't mean to sound rude, here, and I love the film, but when I think of the acting done in Perks of Being a Wallflower, I don't really see it as that impressive. I am sure the acting is great- as I know Emma Watson is a great actress, but I never really thought much about it. Now, going into Fantastic Beasts, I was completely stunned. Ezra Miller's acting was incredible. I love it. I love him.

Back to the actual film. The visual were amazing. All the beasts were... well fantastic, the settings were perfect and so was the clothing (I don't know too much about 20s clothing, but from what I do know it looked good). The music was incredible and perfect and I love it. I love it all. They did use a bit more CGI in this film than they did in the HP films- such as the goblins. But the CGI was amazing so I'm not complaining.

In terms of how predictable the film is- I don't really think it is. Like there are certain small plot points that you can predict, but you always want something like that, don't you? And even then they are done in a way you don't expect them- they do the predictable things at different times. I'm going to talk a bit more about this in the spoiler section, so if you've already seen the film you can see what I'm talking about then.

Anyway, to end the spoiler-free section: this is an amazing film- I highly recommend you go and watch it and it is 100% my current favourite film.

Spoiler section- if you have not yet seen the film do not read this section (I have warned you).

So I think the best was to tackle this is just what happens as it happens in the book. I have the screenplay beside me right now, and I'm going to flick through it and pick out the bits I want to talk about as I go.

*Image not mine*

Firstly, I love what they did with the case swapping. Yes, I know it was pretty obvious it was going to happen- Jacob and Newt were carrying the same case- but it was kind of a surprise at what time they did it. They didn't swap when Jacob tripped over Newt's case when they were standing outside the bank, which is clearly the most obvious route- and I'm so glad they didn't because by the time the cases were actually swapped I wasn't really expecting it.

*Image not mine*

Next I want to talk about the niffler, and all the fantastic beasts really, but mostly the niffler. I want one. It was so cute and cheeky and I love it. Oh and when it was standing in the jewellery shop pretending to be a jewellery rack to hide from Newt? Probably actually one of my favourite parts of the film. But all the magical creatures were amazing. I am honestly so amazed at how JKR could come up with all these creatures. Like for the majority of creatures in the HP series, they already existed, at least in mythology- for example, unicorns, merpeople and elves- they were just altered slightly to fit JKR's vision of her WW. But in FBAWTFT? I had never heard of any of them! Niffler? No idea. Demiguise? No idea? Thunderbird? Only in the ilvermorny sorting (my house whoop!) [I had heard of the niffler and demiguise as well as some others from the previous FBAWTFT book, but nothing from outside of the WW]. So I commend JKR immensely for creating so many.

The interior of Newt's case was amazing. I have wanted to see the inside of the case so much ever since they first showed Newt walking into it in the trailers. I love the little shack that you see Newt and Jacob in at first, I love how it is a little messy but Newt clearly knows exactly where everything it, exactly resembling how Newt is as a person. And the rest of the case, it was stunning. I love all the biomes made specifically for all the fantastic beasts, and I love how you can see that they are in the case- like when Frank the thunderbird flies up you can see where the tops of the biomes end and the case begins. I think they could have so easily cheated their way out of it and made it like Hogwarts and charmed to see the sky, or like the MACUSA building that looks like it never ends. The fact that it is how it is gives the case so much more character and I love it so much.

Here is were the big spoilers start. If you have gotten this far without watching the film or reading the screenplay, first why would you do that and second, stop now. I'm going to be talking about my opinions on the major plot points and I really don't want to spoil it for anyone. Please watch the film or read the screenplay.

What I am slightly upset about is, actually, Mary Lou. She gave me so many questions that I don't know if we will get answers to now that Credence's obscurus (or Credence as the obscurial) has killed her. I want to know why she was so against witches, and so determined of their existance. Did she have an experience with them and was not properly obliviated? Who knows. We don't and I want to. Also, since both Modesty and Credence were magical, does that mean Chastity is too? I don't know whether all the children that Mary Lou brought in for food were magical, but if two of the three she basically adopted were magical, does that mean Chastity is too?

*Image not mine*

I also liked how they revealed that Credence was the obscurial. I did have an inkling when Graves was demanding Credence find it, as he was so sullen and dark (not dark as in a bad character dark) and didn't seem to pipe up as much to Mary Lou's cause as Chastity and Modesty did (Chastity had a big part with the leaflets and Modesty liked that song 'my momma your momma witches gonna die' [I may or may not know all the lyrics]) so  I thought it was him. But then he found Modesty's toy wand and Graves went after her I did think that perhaps it was Modesty. But then it was Credence all along, with the reveal of him crashing through the walls to Graves, incredible.

*Image not mine*

And Credence. I firmly believe he is not dead. I really didn't want him to be when MACUSA 'killed' him because I think there is so much JKR could do with his character, and I think he could have such a huge role in the next four (!!!) films. Also, I don't think they would have focused on that little bit of the obscurus floating away (the wisp) if he wasn't still alive somehow. Also, after reading the screenplay and paying close attention to the stage directions at this point I can confidently say that he is definitely not dead.

Finally, Graves/Grindelwald: I really liked that. I wasn't really expecting it until right before it happened. Throughout the film I could tell that Graves was completely against Madam Picquery and MACUSA and I though perhaps he might be on Grindelwald's side- like his equivalent of death eaters or something. Also Johnny Depp. Not too sure about the look he's going for there. I really like how Jamie Campbell Bower looked when he played Grindelwald, so the bleached blonde hair and moustache don't really sit with me too well currently, but maybe I'll change in the next films.

*Image not mine*

I would really love to see/hear your opinions on the film when you have seen it! Perhaps you picked up on something I didn't? Or have a contrasting opinion to me? Whatever, I would love to hear it!

I hope you enjoyed this little insight into my mind,

My 100th Post

So somehow, in less than a year I have reached 100 posts on this blog. And somehow I didn't realise for almost a month. In that time, I have also somehow managed to reach over 2000 pageviews, meaning people out there have chosen to click on my blog 2000 times. So I just want to say thank you so so so so sooo much. I can't tell you how much that means to me, it's crazy.

I have in recent months had a creative slump. I haven't really posted much in the last couple of months due to my bad mental health, and I didn't know what I wanted to post. But somehow I have reached 100 posts. Recently I have had a couple of good ideas on what I want to blog about, so I am fully intending the next ten, fifty, hundred whatever posts to be better than before.

I was intending to do something different for this post, but it's late and I want to get this post up today. So I decided to do another tag, some what like the first one I posted ever on my blog, but with more personal questions so that you can get to know me better.

1. Full name: Elise Brown
2. Zodiac Sign: Leo
3. 3 fears: being lonely, war, spiders
4. 3 things I love: reading, watching films, sleeping
5. Sexual Orientation: Asexual
6. How tall am I?: 5'3'' (ish)
7. What time was I born: 3.30pm
8. Favourite quote: 'Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age and dreams are forever'- Walt Disney
9. Do I use sarcasm: no, not at all.. don't know what you're talking about
10. What am I listening to right now?: I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here
11. Meaning behind my blog name: well it is based off the URL for the tumblr I used to use (I use my other one more now, I occasionally use the i-cant-think-help one). But basically the tumblr was originally called elisexoxoxoxox because I'm super original, but I really didn;t like it, so I was determined to change it; but the thing was I couldn't think of anything to change it to- so I changed it to just that, I can't think! And I loved the name so much I continued it to my blog and my twitter!
12. Favourite movie? Currently, it's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but it changes all the time (not that I think this one is going to change for a while...)
13. Favourite band?: Well the thing is, whenever I get asked this question I always automatically say the Vamps, and whilst I really do love that band so so so much, but I think, now, Panic! is my favourite band.
14. Last book I read: I am currently reading the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts, but the last whole book I read was Nightfall by Jake Halpern and Peter Kujawinski, which was amazing
15. Do I like my music loud or at a reasonable level?: Generally, at a reasonable level, but when I'm on the bus on the way home from school (bc the kids on the bus are so loud) I like it really loud or if I'm in a bad mood I like it really loud then too.

So there we have it. I'm sorry it wasn't very long, but I didn't want to overly do too much. But I really just wanted to say thank you very much for sticking with me for 100 posts. Thank you very much.

I hope you enjoyed this little insight into my life,
Elise xxx

Can You Help Me?

I've written and re-written this post so many times I've lost count. Every time I write it I read through it and I decide on something (the majority of the post, really) that I don't like and I delete it. I have struggled with uploading this post for so long, but I know I need to. So I'm writing this now, I'm sitting at my desk writing this as fast as possible because I know the more I think about it the less likely I am going to post it.

I need help. My mental health has slowly been getting worse for a while and now it's gotten to a point where I just don't know what to do anymore. I've tried so many things, but nothing really seems to be working.

Let me explain a little bit for you. I have anxiety, and it has literally been controlling my life for so long and I'm sick of it. I have told people, but nobody seems to know what to do to help. My parents know, but they just kind of ignore it- I tell my mum when I have a bad day but she just asks "what's it about" and most the time I don't know so it's not much help; she's told me to "find my happy place" but I don't know where that is so she really doesn't do anything to help it.

My friends know. But I only really have three of them. One of them lives too far away to be able to really do anything about it- and I know she does everything she can from when she is to help me and I am so thankful but I kind of need someone here, with me. My two friends near me aren't really that much help. One of them is lucky enough not to (as far as I know, and she has told me this much) that she does not experience mental illnesses like I do, so she is afraid to do anything in case she makes it worse, as she does not really know what it's about. The other friend kind of tosses it aside and just tries to distract me all the time- which is perfect sometimes, but sometimes I feel like I need to talk about it, but I can't get that.

So what I'm asking for is some advice. I've tried everything I can think of, and I have had a little advice on what to do- and it all works for a while but nothing lasts long enough.

I am sick of this. My life being controlled by my mental health is no fun at all, and I want to get rid of it. I know there is no "cure" per se, but I would like to lessen it, and surely there is a way of doing that? I haven't had a "good" day in so long- I just want to feel happy again like I was last year.

Please can you help me?
